The Art and Craft Gallery showcases a vibrant collection of work created by students across all grades, using a wide range of materials, techniques, and inspirations. Each piece is a reflection of curiosity, craftsmanship, and expression.

🖍️ Highlights from the Primary Years (Grades 1–4)

Our youngest artists experiment with color, shape, and form through simple yet delightful projects.
Gallery Features:

  • Color Wheels & Shape Art: Early learners explore primary and secondary colors through playful designs.

  • Paper Folding Fun: Origami animals, paper boats, and hand-crafted fans bring smiles and skills.

  • Nature Prints: Leaf and vegetable stamping helps children connect with nature while creating beautiful textures.

Module 1: Introduction to Colors and Shapes

Grade: 1–2
Objective: Understand primary and secondary colors; recognize basic shapes.

Materials:

  • Crayons or color pencils

  • Drawing paper

  • Color mixing palette (or plastic plate)

  • Watercolors and brush

Activities:

  1. Draw and color basic shapes (circle, square, triangle).

  2. Mix primary colors to create secondary colors (e.g., red + blue = purple).

  3. Create a color wheel using paper plates.

Learning Outcome: Students can identify colors and shapes and demonstrate color mixing.

Module 2: Paper Folding & Origami

Grade: 2–4
Objective: Improve fine motor skills through paper folding techniques.

Materials:

  • Origami or colored paper

  • Glue and scissors

  • Markers for detailing

Activities:

  1. Fold a paper boat, butterfly, and dog face.

  2. Create a paper flower using layering technique.

  3. Make a simple paper fan with symmetry.

Learning Outcome: Students can follow sequential instructions and create 3D paper forms.

Module 3: Nature Art – Leaf & Vegetable Printing

Grade: 3–5
Objective: Learn to use natural objects for creative expression.

Materials:

  • Leaves of different shapes and sizes

  • Cut vegetables (ladyfinger, potato halves)

  • Tempera or poster paints

  • Chart paper

Activities:

  1. Dip leaves in paint and press on paper to create textures.

  2. Use potato and ladyfinger for block printing patterns.

  3. Make a greeting card using prints.

Learning Outcome: Students gain awareness of texture and pattern using natural elements.

Module 5: Recycled Art – Best Out of Waste

Grade: 4–7
Objective: Encourage creativity with sustainable thinking.

Materials:

  • Old CDs, cardboard, paper rolls

  • Bottle caps, egg cartons

  • Paint, glue gun (under supervision)

Activities:

  1. Make a CD fish or peacock.

  2. Turn paper rolls into pencil holders or animal figures.

  3. Create a wall hanging from scrap fabric and buttons.

Learning Outcome: Students learn creative reuse and environmental responsibility.

Module 6: Festival Craft Projects

Grade: 1–8 (adaptable)
Objective: Celebrate cultural learning through craft.

Materials:

  • Based on festival (Diwali – diyas, Christmas – ornaments)

  • Glitter, sequins, colored paper

  • Craft glue, string

Activities:

  1. Make paper lanterns for Diwali or Eid.

  2. Create a Christmas card or ornament.

  3. Design a Rakhi or Friendship Band.

Learning Outcome: Students understand cultural symbols and develop celebration crafts.

✏️ Sketch & Shade – The Senior Section (Grades 6–8)

Older students dive into technique and form, developing their visual language.
Gallery Features:

  • Still Life Studies: Pencils bring fruit bowls, mugs, and books to life with light and shadow.

  • Themed Illustrations: Students express ideas like “My Future World” or “Peace & Harmony” through drawing and design.

  • 3D Models & Dioramas: Miniature scenes built from cardboard, clay, and imagination!
